My Experience at Bar Louie

I recently took a trip to Bar Louie, a place that has created a reputation for itself, a mix of model and good old-fashioned fun that stays open for brunch, lunch, and dinner. I'd heard a lot about this place - dubbed as a real-life 'Cheers!' bar, the place where everybody knows your name.

They are famous for their hearty comfort food served in huge portions that made my eyes pop out of my head, seriously, you get value for money on your plate at Bar Louie. The restaurant sported a friendly and homely ambiance that made me feel immediately comfortable. The place had a touch of nostalgia, a touch of local essence, and a handful of personality that breathed life into my dining experience.

I heard they had some challenges during the Covid-19 situation, like many businesses. But just talking to the staff, you can feel their resilience, they are bouncing right back. Trust me, you need to visit.

My server informed me that Bar Louie has a total of 134 outlets spread over 26 states, all nestled in hip urban and suburban locations. I loved that their restaurant at the DFW Airport in Texas could satisfy my cravings even when I was traveling. The fact that they made it to have 21 outlets in Texas and 7 in Illinois speaks volume about how people love Bar Louie's grub!

So, What's on the Bar Louie Menu?

Bar Louie is a wonderland of delicious food. On this visit, I indulged in some smaller bar bites - I couldn't resist the crunchy flash-fried calamari. If you're looking for big meals, they have got you covered. The Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese caught my attention - a heavenly blend of creamy four cheeses and tangy buffalo sauce. I literally felt my taste buds singing with joy.

They also have craft burgers that are made to order, so you can holler out your wildest combination! And they've got a great selection of salads for the health-conscious eater.

As a sweet tooth, I couldn't pass up the chance to try out the desserts. The cinnamon doughnuts were soft, sugary, and simply divine. But, the star for me was the chocolate cake. It was, hands down, one of the sinfully decadent cakes I've sampled in a while, and it was worth every single calorie.

Vegetarian and Vegan Options

Worry not my herbivore friends, Bar Louie is very vegetarian and vegan-friendly. They have a good range of vegetarian options, right from the astounding Gastronomy Grilled Cheese sandwich to the Impossible plant-based burgers. Their in-depth nutritional information ensured I knew what I was eating.

If you're looking for vegan options, you can customize your meal. A good tip is to ask them to hold back on the cheese on their garden salad. And, of course, ditch the mayo on the Impossible plant-based burger, you'll love it!

A heads up, dessert lovers, unfortunately, they don't have any vegan dessert options (yet!).

Yes, Bar Louie is also kid-friendly! I noticed a separate menu just for the kiddies, complete with their favorite foods resized for their smaller tummies. What a thoughtful touch!

Visiting Bar Louie?

Bar Louie typically operates from 11 am till midnight on most days, although I was told that on Saturdays, they like to keep the party going till 1 am. How lit is that? Do keep in mind though, that the hours can slightly vary depending on the location, so giving them a call beforehand might be a good idea.

If you're in a mood for some comfort food but don't want to step out, they also offer a delivery service. Convenience at its finest!

And the best part, they love your furry friends as much as you do! I saw a cute Doggo enjoying his meal from under the table, and I couldn't resist going over to say hello. Just make sure to check their policy with the local branch though.

Cocktail Time

Cocktail lovers, there's a special treat for you! Bar Louie offers a fine variety of alcoholic selections. From signature martinis to a vast range of beers and premium liquors, there is something to wet every whistle. I recommend their Dirty Martini, a tasty blend of New Amsterdam gin, olive brine, and house-stuffed blue cheese olives. It was one heck of an experience.

Also, don't forget to ask about their Happy Hour deals. Discounts on alcohol, need I say more.

Party at Bar Louie?

Bar Louie also caters to private parties, accommodating anything between 15-30 people. How great is that! The experience was so good, I'm already thinking of hosting my next birthday here.

One more thing, they serve a Spiked Bullet Bourbon Burger. However, it's not for the underage crowd, due to the Bulleit Bourbon BBQ Sauce. Just a little heads up for the 21-and-under crowd, you might want to save this one for later.
