During my recent trip to Del Taco, I’ve got to say, it was pretty delightful to see such a one-stop-shop eatery. You know what I mean, right? An eatery that's got you covered for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and offering you a hefty choice of mouth-watering dishes without breaking the bank! I truly loved the flavorful hits I got to taste.
As a bit of a food historian, I did a little digging and was amazed to discover that humble beginnings of Del Taco. It started as nothing more than a dream for Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson back in '64, in Yermo, Cali. From there, success bred success, and soon they had the recipe not just for great, affordable food, but also a fantastic business model. Seriously, from that one little restaurant, they've expanded to around 600 stores. That's pretty jaw-dropping, right?
If you feel like journeying further down the Del Taco rabbit hole, I highly recommend checking out their website https://deltaco.com.
It's packed full of interesting titbits and mouth-watering pictures that will get you hankering for a bite!
The Widespread Presence of Del Taco
What's even more impressive about Del Taco is that, except for one, all their restaurants are located in the United States. Boy, do they have quite a list of states they're serving up their signature dishes in:
- Alabama
- Arizona
- California
- Colorado
- Florida
- Georgia
- Idaho
- Michigan
- Nevada
- New Mexico
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
- Utah
- Washington
I found myself wanting to taste the magic of a Del Taco meal, and their handy restaurant finder on their website knew exactly where to direct me!
Breakfast at Del Taco?
Heck yeah! Amid my gastronomic pursuits, I took a dive into their breakfast menu, which I should add, is served at many of their stores. The Breakfast Toasted Wrap is a revelation, with egg, hash brown, cheese, pick de gallo, and a gem of a choice between egg & cheese, crispy bacon, or grilled carne asada. Iron Chef, move over.
When you can pair your breakfast item with a side of hash browns and choice of hot coffee, iced coffee, milk, or fountain drink, you can bet your day is off to a terrific start.
What about Del Taco timings?
During my visit, I found out that most Del Taco restaurants are open from 6:30 am to 1 am, 7 days a week. Still, you might want to double-check your local branch's timings by hopping over to their website or giving them a ring.
As a night owl, I found the fact that some of their branches in Guam were open 24/7 downright celestial. Talk about a gastronomic delight round the clock!
Is Del Taco Delivery a Thing?
Absolutely yes! If you're a homebody like me, you'll be thrilled to learn that most Del Taco branches deliver. Just remember to confirm with your local branch about the delivery options.
I always enjoy when places cater to the kiddos, and Del Taco is one of them. Their Kid Loco Meals are kid-friendly portions of traditional Del Taco offerings like hamburgers, cheeseburgers, tacos, and burritos. Plus, they come with crinkle-cut fries and bottled water, all in adorable packaging.
Does Del Taco Cater to Vegetarians?
As a vegetarian myself, I put Del Taco to the test. And, they have a heap of vegetarian dishes on the menu, boasting of their enticing Beyond Meat plant-based alternatives. Kudos Del Taco.
How about the Vegan Del Taco Lovers?
If you're in the vegan boat, let me tell you, Del Taco has you covered! As an experimental vegetarian, I totally fell for their Epic Beyond Fresh Guacamole Burrito. Teeming with Beyond Meat plant-based crumbles, beans, lime rice, guacamole, and pico de gallo, it was a complete knockout!
Ordering Del Taco Online?
For those of us who love beating the queues, the good news is that many Del Taco branches offer online and app ordering. Just make sure to confirm with your local branch or check their website.
Is Del Taco Healthy?
As someone who tries to keep it healthy, I was absolutely thrilled to find the Taco Salad with Fresh Guac and Grilled Chicken on the menu. At just 420 calories, this delightful dish overflowed with fresh, vibrant veggies. A hearty yet healthy choice!
What about Gluten-free Options?
I was amazed to find that Del Taco offers a whole range of gluten-free items, including their gourmet fries and tacos. However, their kitchens aren't 100% gluten-free, so if you have allergies, make sure you confirm at your local restaurant.
Del Taco in your Kitchen?
Here's a fun little secret. You can purchase Del Taco's sauces for your cooking experiments at home! From Mild Sauce to Del Inferno and Del Scorcho sauces, you can get them all. Now, isn't that just a great way to take a piece of Del Taco magic home?
Can I buy a Del Taco gift card?
If you've got someone special in mind who shares your love for Del Taco, you'll be delighted to know that Del Taco offers gift cards. Whether you want a physical card or an eGift card to be sent directly to their inbox, they've got you covered!
