Thankfully, the restaurant was open every day of the week, making it easier for me to plan my visits. They are open from 11 am to 10 pm, except for Fridays and Sundays when they close an hour later at 11 pm. Clever to accommodate the weekend crowd! However, the local timing might differ, so do check it out.
A Word on the Healthy Side
It's time for a reality check, folks! While their offerings might not be the healthiest with their menu mostly consisting of grilled fatty meat cuts, deep-fried appetizers, and large portions, there are a few healthier options available. The Roadhouse Steak Cobb Salad was a delightful mélange of nutritious vegetables, and the Logan's Wood-Grilled Chicken was a lean delight.
Bring Home the Logan's Roadhouse Experience
What if I told you that you can recreate the delightful Logan's Roadhouse experience in your own home? Under the “Logan’s Butcher Shop” category on their menu, various meat cuts and weights, including the 6 oz. Sirloin, 8 oz. Filet Mignon, pack of four 6 oz. Pork Chops, Full Stack of Baby Back Ribs, amongst other offerings. They also provide their original seasoning blend to ensure that extra authenticity is not lost in the home-cooking process. However, it’ll take your culinary expertise to recreate their burgers, salads, and other meals to perfection.
Pros and Cons of My Experience
Pros
Wide variety of meat and accompaniments on the menu.
Child-friendly menu available.
The buckets full of peanuts-an exciting quirk.
Convenient ordering options.
Cons
Few vegetarian options available.
Most dishes are high in fat and calories.
There's no denying the grand comeback of Logan's Roadhouse. There are some minor improvements needed, particularly the need for a more expansive vegetarian menu. However, the overall dining experience was quite remarkable, and if you're a meat lover, you'll find a cornucopia of sumptuous delights awaiting you.

- Pros and Cons of My Experience
During my visit to Logan's Roadhouse, a bonus for me was knowing that the joint was founded back in 1991 in Lexington, Kentucky by Dave Wachtel and Charles F. McWhorter. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner meals, ensuring whatever my cravings were, they'd be able to sort me out.
I learned that the restaurant endured some challenging times during the 2010s, facing bankruptcy and undergoing leadership changes numerous times. Thankfully, Logan's Roadhouse was bought over by SBP Hospitality in 2020 for a whopping $93 million, which led to its resurgence. Funnily enough, knowing that they had overcome adversity made the steak taste a bit sweeter to me, if that's even possible!
For those interested, I will advise you to visit their official website for more details on this amazing establishment. Also, do check out this guide for their menu and frequently asked questions.
Located Across the States
Logan's Roadhouse operates exclusively in the United States. They have over 100 locations in more than 20 states. My own experience was in Texas, although they also have outlets in Kentucky, and Michigan amongst others. Their handy "Find a Location" page assisted me in locating a restaurant close to me. The restaurant went from being a nationally recognized name with over 200 locations, unfortunately down-sizing because of bankruptcy. But Logan's Roadhouse, resilient as always, is currently expanding once again. I have to admit, spotting a new Logan's Roadhouse in my local area always brings a smile to my face.
There's Something Special About Logan’s Roadhouse
Let me tell you the not-so-secret secret; it's the peanuts. Buckets full of them on each table, and it's a real treat while waiting for your order. During my visit, I'd often find myself munching on these bit-sized snacks while engrossed in a Tommyknocker novel. Quite the appetizer, I would say!
The other distinctive feature about Logan's Roadhouse is the restaurant's ambiance. Each outlet sports a retro style, offering a nostalgic and historical dining experience. For my fellow Detroit citizens, you'd be delighted to know that the walls in the Detroit outlets are adorned with artwork showcasing the Detroit Pistons, the city's official basketball team. That for me was one of the high points during my visit.
A Little Something for the Spice Lovers
While most of their dishes are non-spicy, the Hog Wild Burger and the Porkivore burger filled with fried jalapeños were surprisingly delightful for my heat-seeking taste buds.
The extensive range of offerings on Logan's Roadhouse menu was quite the sight. From grilled meats and BBQ platters to drool-inducing burgers and a selection of alcoholic beverages. The restaurant has every protein you could want: beef, pork, chicken, and fish. Oh, and the Surf & Turf trio with its tender Sirloin cut, two crab cakes, and mesquite-grilled shrimp served with rice, Cajun sauce, and garlic dill sauce? That was pure taste bud heaven!
My other thrilling gastronomic adventure was with their famous BBQ platter, the Ultimate BBQ Platter, which contained Baby Back Ribs, juicy grilled sausage, succulent pulled pork all smothered in BBQ sauce and served with a side of pickles plus Texas Toast. A delightful reward after a long week if you ask me!
Ordering Experience at Logan's Roadhouse
Ordering at Logan's Roadhouse was as you would expect, easy and seamless. I could either head into their restaurant or order from the comfort of my couch through their website or via the "Logan's Rewards" app. For those times when I was on a time crunch, their pick up order feature and the ability to skip the line using their app became my savior. So, whatever the craving, Logan’s Roadhouse has a way to satisfy it.
A Slight Let Down for Vegetarians
Unfortunately, for my vegetarian friends, Logan's Roadhouse majorly leans towards meat-based dishes. Most of the vegetarian dishes on their menu are sides or desserts. I found it surprising that even most of the salads contained meat, Yikes! But don't be disheartened, there are options: Mozzarella Sticks and Hand-Breaded Pickles made a delightful combo. Plus, you have the Cookie Slider Sundae, which was one sweet ending to my meal!
A Delight for the Little Ones
For parents, the inclusion of a Kid’s Menu is sure to bring much relief. The menu, designed for children aged 10 and under, includes a range of child-friendly meals including Chicken Tenders, Popcorn Shrimp, Macaroni & Cheese. They also serve beverages like Apple Juice, Orange Juice, and Milk amongst others.
