Panera Bread menu prices featuring 278 items ranging from $0.50 to $18.99
I had a chance to visit Panera Bread at various times of the day during my trip - for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The elaborate
they've crafted is more than enough to satisfy any craving at any time of the day. And I dug a little into the history books too. This amazing bakery-cafe chain was first established by Ken and Linda Rosenthal in 1987, and was originally titled 'The St. Louis Bread'. They made the hefty sale for $23 million to Au Bon Pain Co. in 1993, and by 1997, the name was officially changed to Panera. I found it quite interesting that 'panera' actually translates to 'breadbasket' in Latin, Spanish, and Catalan. How fitting for a bread and baking company, right? But Panera's not just about their tasty offerings. You can actually find them across the United States and Canada, with more than 2,000 outlets scattered here and there. I was particularly thrilled to see the Californian, North Carolinian, and Texan branches represented because – fun fact - I’ve actually been to those states! Now onto my personal take on their food. What really got my attention was their sheer dedication to serving wholesome, clean food. They make a point to avoid any artificial additives, sweeteners, colors, and even their meat is free from antibiotics. All of these aspects combined to make some of the most delicious and guilt-free meals I've had in long time. Their loyalty program was also pretty impressive, with its innovative monthly subscription system. The more I used their services, the more discounts and benefits I got. The ‘Unlimited Sip Program’ was hard to pass up, I mean, unlimited drinks? Count me in! As for their food, I wouldn't say Panera tends to veer towards the spicy side - although I did try their Spicy Thai Chicken Sandwich and Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt which had a nice kick. But what really got me hooked were their salads - particularly the Caesar, Greek and Asian Sesame with Chicken. Of course, we can't forget about the little ones, Panera had a special kid’s menu which features smaller portions of their classics, like the Kids Signature Mac & Cheese and Kids Creamy Tomato Soup. Their opening hours were a great match for my itinerary. They open at 6 am and carry on till 9 pm. But I can’t stress enough – always check their opening hours for each specific location! And let me tell you, this answer would be incomplete if I didn’t mention Panera's home-cook option! You can choose from a range of their pantry products like dressings, soups, and even their signature Mac & Cheese for DIY Panera meals. And yes, I did try it, their Asiago Cheese Bread was to die for! Now, onto the fun part - my experiences broken down:

Pros

  • The food tasted fresh and authentic, which I believe is a result of their commitment to using clean ingredients.
  • I was thoroughly impressed with their unlimited drinks feature as part of the loyalty program.
  • The wide array of healthy options really stood out to me.
  • I think their home-cook option is a unique edge for those of us who enjoy Panera Bread from the comfort of our homes.

Cons

  • The spicy options were a bit too mild for my liking, but great for anyone who prefers less heat.
  • I found their sandwich portions a little smaller than anticipated.
Overall, my experience at Panera Bread was a delight and now that I’m back home, I’m so tempted to try my hand at an inspired Panera dinner using one of their official recipes. A perfect end to a yummy journey, don’t you think?
