Did you know that the Village Inn Pancake House we all like was founded way back in 1958 in Denver, CO? And boy, hasn't it flourished since then! Now, they've crossed the 121 mark in terms of locations across the nation. They're still growing, a fact, which makes them one of the biggest family-owned food joints!
Honestly, it feels quaint when they serve me a pile of good old family-fashioned food without making my wallet cry. And here's a fun fact - those yummy pancakes you can get even over lunch or dinner!
Remember those days when you couldn't make up your mind about what to eat and then you'd have this savior of a place with their steak, grilled chicken sandwiches, and grilled salmon fillets? That's Village Inn for you!
Did You Know Village Inn Had Another Name?
Well, here's another fun tidbit for you - Village Inn was formerly known as The Lamb until 1987. Then they started serving breakfast, saw me become a regular, and then changed their name to suit their vibe of being a cozy second home!
And my oh my, their menu! If you're a carnivore, there’s something for you. A vegetarian? You’re in for a treat. And if you're anything like me, a pancake hogger, then blessed you are, my friend, because their blueberry pancakes are heaven on a plate!
Moonlit Breakfast, Brunch, and So Much More!
Plus, feast on their daily fresh-made cinnamon rolls, and oh, did their savory dishes hit the spot! I tried their meatball sandwich and my, am I transported to Italy!
A Little Lull in the Village Life?
I know it's a hard pill to swallow, but Village Inn has been closing some sites due to bankruptcy. It's really heartbreaking considering it’s been around for more than half a century. Born in 1958, they've had around 160 locations scattered across 24 states. But recently, there's been a bit of a shake up with restaurants closing and reopening on December 30th, with altered hours and some price hikes. If you're a regular like me, chances are you've felt the pinch and seen some of your favorite staff members losing their jobs.
Wait, it's only in Colorado, right?
Nope, my friend, Village Inn is magnanimous. It’s not only rooted in Colorado, but it also branches out to over ten states including Alaska, Wyoming, Virginia, Arizona, Kansas, and Minnesota - all while being loved for their pancakes! Their buttermilk and pumpkin spice pancakes are truly divine, while their seasonal blueberry pancakes and apple cider donuts are to die for!
What's the Deal with the Denver Omelet?
Well, the Denver omelet is an ensemble of eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, and green onions. A dish that traces its origin to Denver in Colorado. It's basically an everything bagel but with egg instead of the cream cheese (but hey, who doesn't love cream cheese?).
The Village Inn sure knows how to keep things egg-citing with their three variants of the Denver omelet. You can go Western style with chili & cheddar cheese, Southwestern style with diced tomato & cheddar cheese, or Veggie style with mushrooms, onions, & spinach. Been there, eaten all!
What Else Do They Omelettes Offer at Village Inn?
If you're a country music lover like I am, you'd probably mark your journey with a Country Music Star Omelette. Loaded with country ham, thick-cut bacon, and cheddar cheese, it's music to your taste buds. And their Fresh Spinach & Bacon Omelette filled with fresh veggies and cheese is a pure symphony. I've had these and so much more. Stand up, with me my friends, to their variety of omelettes or rule your world by creating your own!
Village Inn, Hotels and More?
Though Village Inn has been cherished for around 60 years, don’t get confused – not every Village Inn is the same! Some fall under hotels, some are standalones. If you're yearning for pancake and sleep in the same place, check-in to a hotel with a Village Inn attached. Or perhaps if you want a rollercoaster ride of eggs and bacon rushing you 24 hours a day, check out a standalone Village Inn.
Vegetarian Options, Anyone?
Even though I’m not a vegetarian, I've witnessed the diverse offerings at Village Inn – they cater perfectly to the vegetarian palate as well. Their delicious pancakes, french toast, and sandwiches could compete with any meat offerings you'd find anywhere else. To be honest, they might even have some of the best meatballs in town!
Let's Talk Rewards Program
Are you part of the Village Inn Pancake House reward program? It's honestly a cornucopia of treats! You can earn points every time you pay a visit! Who knows, you might even get access to some exclusive offers and inside-info restricted just to members. Oh, and did I mention a $10 reward just for joining?
How does the Marble Rye Ruben Sandwich Taste?
Have you tasted the Marble Rye Ruben sandwich at Village Inn? It takes you for a ride to Russia with its marble rye bread, sauerkraut, and unique twist on the Russian dressing.
The last time I ordered one, I also got a side of crispy potatoes. The potatoes were seasoned to perfection with the outside being exactly crisp and the inside as soft as a cloud. And, it turned into one of my favorite dishes, something I'll treasure forever!
Burger Alert!
Maybe you don't know, but Village Inn offers the classic egg and bacon sandwich as a perfect breakfast to start your day alongside the typical sausage scramble. The treat doesn't stop there. Later throughout the day, they'll serve you with a selection from an Angus burger, grilled ham, and a cheesy turkey club sandwich. The cherry on the cake? Buttermilk waffles, pancakes, and French toast for you sweet folks!
And What about Desserts?
Hold your horses because the desserts at Village Inn are top-notch! With their in-house daily fresh pies and cakes, you're guaranteed a flavor-packed treat. My favorite is the hot fudge sundae pie that teases you with a mouthwatering slice of pie, a scoop of ice cream, and a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Impossible to resist, doesn’t that sound?
