The phrase “it’s finger lickin’ good” is not only associated with KFC but trademarked to it as well (although the trademark expired in the US in 2006). Sanders sold a franchise early on to Pete Harman who was not only responsible for coining the well-known phrase but also for naming the chicken product KFC rather than Southern Fried Chicken.
Harman also came up with an idea to help out another franchisee, who had 500 cardboard buckets that he didn’t know what to do with. Harman hit upon the idea of putting 14 pieces of chicken, five bread rolls, and a pint of gravy in the cardboard bucket and selling them for £3.50 each, as a “complete family meal”. The bucket family meal was born.
Famous for providing delicious southern-style fried chicken all over the world, KFC now serves breakfast as well as lunch and dinner.

Whilst many KFC outlets offer a drive-through facility, KFC themselves have developed a new alternative to drive-through as it was felt this was a slow process and resulted in queues forming both inside and outside the restaurant. Instead, they encourage visitors to pre-order their food using the app and drive to the restaurant, park in an allocated spot and collect their food.
The majority of KFC restaurants provide free wifi and baby changing facilities. Some have disabled parking and toilet facilities.
KFC has also partnered with Student Beans to offer students a free Popcorn Snack Bucket when they spend £3 or over.
