My Visit to Twin Peaks
Now, if you're talking about unique dining experiences, my recent trip to Twin Peaks certainly fits the bill. The first thing you'll notice upon stepping into the restaurant is the distinct "Twin Peaks Girls". Now, before you get the wrong idea, these girls are part of the restaurant's staff/waitresses who serve and entertain customers, and not surprisingly, they're dolled up in rather skimpy outfits.
The vibe of the place though was entirely engrossing! Twin Peaks was established in 2005 by two enthusiasts, Randy Dewitt and Scott Gordon in Lewisville, Texas. The inspiration behind Twin Peaks comes from Hooters, but these guys wanted to step it up a level, hence, quality food and drinks became their main focus.
If I had to describe Twin Peaks, I’d go with an "ultimate sports lodge" or say, a dressed-up "breastaurant" (chuckles). The overall ambience with its log-cabin feel is quite captivating. Wall-to-wall televisions playing everything from title fights to primetime matchups, fireplaces lit up, and yes, there are the signature "Twin Peaks Girls" too, all contribute to the unique casual yet intimate atmosphere that Twin Peaks has manifested for itself.
What Sets Twin Peaks Apart?
Undeniably, a defining feature that sets Twin Peaks apart from other fast-casual restaurants lies in its motif and the girls. In their signature red plaid cropped tops tied at the front and low hip khaki short shorts, these young ladies make some impression. The restaurant even sponsors their gym, tanning salon services, nail services, and make-up- talk about dedication to serve their customers in their finest form!
Yet, that's not all folks, oh, no. Their food and drinks take no backseat either. They boast a scratch kitchen, where not a thing is pre-cooked, pre-packed, or pre-made; it's all fresh off the oven. From good old American-style fare like burgers, steaks, and fries, to an impressively extensive bar with a long list of beers, wines, and cocktails; Twin Peaks caters to your gastronomical needs.
What seals the deal for me is their commitment to innovation. Each year, they experiment with new items in their food and drink menus, refining their offer year in, year out.
What tickles the taste buds at Twin Peaks?
While Twin Peaks offers everything from lunch, happy hour, to dinner, their menu caters to a wide range of preferences. From mouth-watering appetizers to satiating hot dishes, they've got it covered. However, the one-of-a-kind experience was their signature 29-degree draft beer- almost freezing temperature, served in these unique frozen mugs, sure gave me goosebumps!
Knockout dishes at Twin Peaks
On my first visit to Twin Peaks, I had a feast, and here are a few dishes that you don't want to miss -
- Crispy Mini Beef Tacos - Three miniature tacos filled with spicy ground beef, pepper jack, pico de gallo, cilantro, and sour cream
- Spicy Thai Ribs - Smoked and fried pork ribs covered in spicy Thai chili sauce, cilantro, and sesame seeds
- Billionaire's Bacon Burger - The burger lover in me was pleased with this one; it featured a mix of sriracha pimento cheese, Billionaire's Bacon, lettuce, tomato, beer mustard, and mayo
- 29-degrees Draft Beer - This beer was something else, it was truly an experience
