I remember flipping through channels on late-night TV and seeing this charismatic chef, who's love for burgers was evident—not only on screen, but also here in his humble creation. Bobby Flay's childhood fascination with the beloved burger-and-fries combo was the seed of inspiration for what is now Bobby's Burger Palace—one of my go-to spots for indulging in top-notch burgers.

Interestingly, Bobby's Burger Palace has a select few locations within the United States. I had the pleasure of visiting the following two:

While the company had, at its peak, 19 stores across 10 different states, some unfortunately had to close their doors during the Covid-19 pandemic. Notwithstanding these circumstances, the remaining Bobby Burger Palace stores still deliver fantastic quality food - worth every penny. And yes, if you are wondering, they have reinvented themselves with a more concise menu under Bobby's Burgers, and these are in addition to the two Bobby Burger Palace locations.

What's Cooking at Bobby's Burger Palace?

As heart and soul of Bobby's Burger Palace, the burger is what they're best known for. The 9 tantalizing choices have me spoiled, and the best part is that you can switch things up between beef, turkey, chicken, or even a veggie patty. The pinnacle of this experience is when you bite into the crispy potato chips on top of the patty—an unexpected, but welcome twist. Not to forget the veggies in the crowd, a Bobby Veggie Burger is on the menu too, packed with BBQ wild mushrooms, chickpeas, quinoa, American cheese, tomato, and pickles, finished with a red pepper chipotle mayo. A nominal additional cost lets you add beef, turkey, or chicken to any vegetarian burger.

To accompany your burger, try their buttermilk onion rings, double-dipped and fried to perfection. Let's not overlook the fries, which can be loaded with drool-worthy bacon, cheese, and scallions. And finally, to round off the indulgence, a refreshing milkshake made with a whopping 11oz of premium ice cream. Personally, the mint chocolate chip leaves me grinning in satisfaction every time.
